Actual Bird started making music in 2008. Originally conceived of as a recording project, with only two members, the first finished recordings consisted of sequenced music and vocals. A few months after finishing work on these songs, a live band was put together. Songs from the first album were adapted from their electronic incarnations and arranged for a 6-piece band and vocals. After some live shows in Bristol, the band holed up and recorded the new arrangements. These recordings make up their self-titled debut album, Actual Bird. Tracks from this record can be heard here.
UPDATE: In 2011/12 Actual Bird wrote and recorded their second E.P. - "The Ending Inn" which can also be downloaded for free from this website. They have made a music video for the E.P.'s title track and they are now gigging around the UK.
